Who should (and shouldn’t) buy a Bar Tab?
Buy if you’ll spend at least $30/day on drinks. That’s about 2 cocktails, 3 beers or wine, or 5 lattes. This is enough spending to use up the Bar Tab including the pre-purchase bonus. You can share a Bar tab with your roommate or use it to buy drinks for them, so factor in their consumption too.
Don’t buy if you have a lot of Sailor Loot (onboard credit) that you won’t use for anything else - just use the Sailor Loot for drinks.
What is it?
Bar Tabs let you pre-pay for extra-cost drinks that aren’t already part of your fare, including:

⭐️ Bonus credit
The main reason to buy a Bar Tab. Usually Virgin will give you a bonus for buying Bar Tabs. For example, if you buy a $200 Bar Tab, you get a $25 bonus.
It only works for drinks
You can’t use a Bar Tab for anything else.
It’s optional
You don’t need a Bar Tab to buy drinks. If you don’t have one or you use it up, then your Sailor Loot (onboard credit) will be used (if you some), else it’ll be charged to your onboard account.
It’s automatic
Drinks will automatically be deducted from your Bar Tab. If your Bar Tab runs out, then your Sailor Loot (onboard credit) will be used (if you have some), else it’ll be charged to your onboard account.
Drinks always cost the same
No matter how you pay for drinks, they always cost the same.
Buy at least 24 hours before sailing
You can’t buy Bar Tabs in the 24 hours before the departure time, nor can you buy it onboard.
Use it or lose it
Any unused amounts on your Bar Tab cannot be refunded or transferred. Bar Tabs are only valid for the specific cruise you buy it before - they expire at the end of the cruise and cannot be rolled over to your next cruise.
You can share it
You can use your Bar Tab to buy any other cruiser a drink. There’s no limit to how drinks you can buy.
You can also share your Bar Tab with your roommate, but when the Tab runs out, any additional drinks purchased will be charged to one of you (not both).
Works everywhere onboard
You can use Bar Tabs at any bar, cafe, and restaurant on the ship, as well as for .
