✅ Packing Checklist

(make a copy to edit, or download or print it out) 🚫 Do Not Pack
Official policy linked above, but here are some highlights:
🔪 Weapons or anything that resembles one, even if fake or a replica. 🧨 Explosives, fireworks, flammables including candles and incense. Cigarette lighters are usually fine. 🕯️ Heat-generating appliances such as heating pads or clothing irons. Hair irons are usually okay. 🕹️ Drones or other flying or remote-controlled devices. 🔧 Power and hard tools (like pliers/wrenches). 🔌 Power strips or extension cords. See the Power & Charging section. 🧳 Carry-On vs Check Luggage
Similar to flying, you have luggage you carry onto the ship by yourself, and luggage that you leave with the cruise line at the terminal, which they will deliver to your stateroom later that afternoon or evening.
Unlike with airlines, there’s no limit to how many pieces of luggage you can bring, and there are no baggage fees. You can also carry on all of your luggage if you’re physically able to.
I recommend packing anything you need on day 1 in your carry-on, and packing the rest into luggage for the cruise to haul on board for you (this is what most cruisers do).
See for a list of what to pack into your carry-on. 🏷️ Luggage Tags
For each piece of luggage you want delivered to your stateroom, print out and attach a luggage tag to it. Luggage tags come from Virgin (not Atlantis) during the online registration process in the Virgin Voyages app or website.
In case you can’t print out the tags ahead of time, tell the porter staff your stateroom number when you drop off your luggage.
🍷 Alcohol
Atlantis may override the cruise line’s policy (but usually doesn’t)
In the past, Atlantis has usually gone with the cruise line’s policy, but this is no guarantee for the future.
Passengers can bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags. No other alcohol is allowed. Official policy linked above with more details.
🥤 Non-Alcoholic Beverages
Atlantis often overrides the cruise line’s policy
Atlantis sometimes further restricts how many non-alcoholic beverages you can bring onboard.
From my own experience, up to two (2) non-alcoholic beverages, is as restrictive as Atlantis gets and should be safe. Virgin has a limit of 12 oz per beverage.
🍫 Food
Pre-packaged, sealed, non-perishable snacks are fine, especially for things you won’t find onboard like chips and candy. Don’t go on a Costco run though - only moderate amounts are allowed.
