A giant buffet is a staple on every cruise ship...except on Virgin. Instead, their ships have “The Galley”. It has the same casual vibe and seating arrangement as the buffet on other cruise lines, but the food is cooked to order instead of you scooping it onto a plate.
Similar to the buffet on other cruise lines, The Galley has a wide variety of food and cuisine options.
As it’s unique to Virgin Voyages, I wanted to highlight a few things:
Late-Night Service on Atlantis sailings
On other cruise lines, Atlantis arranges for a special late-night service in the buffet, from 12am midnight until 3am or 4am. There’s no buffet on Virgin ships, but some of the food stations in the Galley will be open during these hours.
Grab & Go
At the two entrances to The Galley you’ll see an open fridge with pre-packaged food that you can grab to take away. Usually there will be sandwiches, salads, and snacks/desserts. I love that Virgin have thought of those times when you just want something quick to take back to your room.
Sushi (to go)
At the Bento Baby station you’ll find a few different sushi rolls conveniently packaged in the same to-go boxes as the grab-and-go’s I talked about earlier.
Grounds Club Too [$]
A satellite location of the main Grounds Club coffee bar on deck 7, you can get your espresso fix while grabbing a bite at The Galley. Also convenient if you’re on the pool deck and need some caffeine. Note that espresso and barista drinks are extra charge.
The last time I was at Grounds Club Too they had a special boba menu...BOBA!!! 🧋
Diner & Dash (All Day Breakfast)
All day breakfast! What part of that don’t you understand? 🤣
Noodle Around (Ramen & Udon)
These are rare to find on any cruise but Virgin has them on every ship.
On my last Atlantis Virgin sailing they were still serving ramen during the late night, party-time service 🤤
